THIS OLE HOUSE: ELLIS VANNOY HOMESTEAD STANDS PROUDLY AFTER 125 YEARS ON SYCAMORE

The Ellis J. Vannoy Homestead is still standing proudly on Sycamore Creek, a short distance from Russett.

Ellis built the house in 1900, marrying Locia Bourn in 1903, having three children, Vercia L Vannoy 1906-1990, Verna M Fowler 1910-1991 and Velma Agatha Vannoy 1912-2002.

Ellis was born is 1882, son of Daniel Madison and Clarinda Proudfoot Vannoy, dying in 1966.

The stately two-story house has been remodeled and maintained by the current owners, on over 100 acres of farmland, the hills and valleys being given scrupulous care.
