MAP LOVERS WILL LIKE THIS 1933 CALHOUN RENDERING

(11/03/2023)
Dr. Tim Miller of Kingwood, a former Calhoun resident, writes about purchasing a 1933 Calhoun Map, which we publish for map lovers. He bought the map in an antique store.

"I have enjoyed your series of articles regarding Bear Fork and the old E & LK railroad. My father Corley grew up on Tanner #4 at Shock, which is where the railroad ran for a time. I have heard the old timers in the family speak often of the old "narrow gauge railroad" and the cooperage operation." (See TALES OF BEAR FORK)

He also put together three counties, Braxton, Gilmer and Calhoun, showing part of where the old railroad was built into Bear Fork Country in the early part of the last century.
