Harry Lee "Buster" Hughes, 70, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, July 28, 2003, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

He was born October 14, 1932, at Newton, WV, a son of the late Willie and Mary K. Runnion Hughes. He was a retired employee of the former Spencer State Hospital and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah Hughes of Spencer; son Gene Hughes of Spencer; brothers, Albert Hughes of Spencer, Raymond Hughes of Pigeon, WV, Rex Hughes of Clendenin, WV, and Steve Hughes of Ohio; sisters, Alice Jett of Pigeon, Carolyn Greathouse of Indiana and Dorothy Lyons of Barnesville, Ohio.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 31 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
