WHAT HAPPENED TO THE "L" WORD? - They Studiously Avoid It

This week under PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS, columnist Tony Russell reacts to the way even the "liberal media" is covering the Bush administration. Several years ago George Bush got a good deal of mileage out of references to "the 'L' word." The reference was to "liberal," which presumably is a dirty word... Now Mr. Bush's son, George W., is benefiting from a reluctance on the part of journalists and even opposition politicians to use another 'L' word: "Lie."
