Five members of the Calhoun High School junior class participated in
the 51st annual Know
Your State Government Day on February 26. School faculty selected
David Albaugh, Shaina
Cain, Darris Hupp, Bliss Masiarczyk and Danielle McBride. The group
was accompanied by
sponsor Robert Bonar. The group toured the capitol, met with Sen. Donna Boley and observed a session of the State Senate. The afternoon session was devoted to a presentation by Senate President Earl Ray Tomblin; House Speaker Bob Kiss; Secretary of Education and the Arts Kay Goodwin and Chief Justice Warren McGraw. The panel answered questions from the 400 juniors from around the state. Following the program, those in attendance enjoyed a reception in the Great Hall of the Cultural Center.
