MEDICAL EXAMINER CALLED TO DISCOVERY OF BODY NEAR RUSSETT

The body of an elderly Kanawha County man, in his 70s, was reportedly discovered by neighbors or reported by family members Tuesday on Sassafras Road near Russett. Those reports indicated the man's body was outside a house when authorities arrived to the scene, and had reportedly been dead for some time. The Calhoun Sheriffs Department and the WV State Police investigated the incident and a medical examiner was called to the scene. The man owned a farm in the rural area and frequently visited the site. The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
