James Franklin Welch, 69, of Big Bend, WV, went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2021.
He was born May 16, 1952, the son of Delmar and Eleanor Deuley Welch.
He graduated from Calhoun County High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grantsville. He was a proud Army veteran serving several years during the Vietnam War.
Jim retired as an over-the-road truck driver. Then he volunteered for several years in the Foster Grandparent program at Pleasant Hill School.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Patricia Metz and Thelma Winters.
He is survived by his wife Bessie and two children Charles Hinzman and Lynda Tanner and two grandchildren Donna Richards and Sandra Tanner. He is also survived by brothers Howard (Sandra), Larry and Bill and sisters Jean McCray, Loretta Scott, and Betty (Marvin) Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim leaves behind a special nephew Mike.
A funeral service will be held at Nobe Chapel Baptist Church, on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Ron Chesser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Nobe Chapel Baptist Cemetery. |
