MAN INJURED IN LOGGING ACCIDENT ON LOST RIDGE - Busy Responder Day |

Calhoun responders were dispatched about 5 p.m. Tuesday to what was described as a logging accident, initial reports indicating the person was trapped. The accident was in remote area off Back Fork Road known as Lost Ridge, which leads into Ritchie County. Reports indicated a 72-year-old man was injured, those reports indicating he was not a seriously injured as first reported, but could have a broken hip. He was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System. The Grantsville VFD dispatched a UTV to the accident. Calhoun EMS, OES Director Julie Sears and the Calhoun Sheriffs Department also responded. Calhoun responders had a busy Tuesday, law enforcement obtaining a search warrant and the Medical Examiner likely responding to an unattended death. |
