|West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has declared a state of emergency for 18 counties in the Mountain State that were affected by flooding, including Roane, Clay and Braxton - plus 15 others.|
The declaration follows heavy rainfall that caused significant flooding, power outages and road blockages.
Justice has directed the state Emergency Management Division to implement the stateâs emergency operations plan on flood response and to mobilize appropriate personnel and resources to respond to the emergency.
The state of emergency will be in effect for 30 days unless it is ended with another proclamation.
