WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Double Murder

(03/02/2021)
MURDER - A Williamstown woman was arraigned Monday morning and charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of her father and fiance.

According to Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens, Hillary Dennison, 27, is accused of killing Harold Dennison, 62, and Beau Wasmer, 26, Sunday afternoon at a home in the 1200 block of Sunshine Mountain Road.

Harold Dennison died at the scene and Wasmer died at a hospital, Stephens said.

The initial call to the Wood 911 center was for a nail-gun malfunction that had injured two people, authorities said.

Stephens said that when detectives arrived at the home they found no evidence of a nail-gun explosion.

According to a criminal complaint in Wood County Magistrate Court, Hillary Dennison admitted in an interview that she intentionally fired a gun at her father that resulted in the deaths of both men.

Because the charge is a capitol offense, Hillary Dennison remains in jail pending a bond hearing in Wood County Circuit Court.

CHILD SHOT - The Charleston Police Department is investigating after a 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to the CPD, police responded to a reported gunshot wound victim at CAMC – Women and Children’s Hospital around 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. Police say the child sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers say the boy was in a parked vehicle in the 100 block of Kanawha Blvd. East when witnesses noticed him bleeding when he exited the vehicle.

The child was taken to the hospital by a personal vehicle and is in stable condition, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released. Police say there is no threat to the public, residents or businesses in the area.
