He was born January 22, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late Zella and Derea Paugh Richards.

He is survived by wife Kathy Richards of Big Springs WV; sons Billy Richards of Lubeck WV and Christopher Richards (wife April) of Munday WV; daughter Gai Le (husband Quang) of Papillion, Nebraska; nine grandkids; four great-grandkids; brothers Rolland Richards of Warren, Ohio and Ora Richards of Ohio; and sisters Jenny Belt of Parkersburg WV and Nora McIntyre of Parkersburg.

A private family funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville WV on Saturday, April 18, 2020 with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Interment will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
