She was the daughter of the late George Herbert Smith and Elizabeth Salyers Smith.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Franklin Drake.

Vernetta was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School Class of 1975. She was a retired employee of Miletree Health Care Center Spencer, WV. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by: son, John L. Schwaiger; daughters, Crystal Dawn Dickey and Tracy Ann Roush; brother, Don Herbert Smith; grandchildren, Joseph, Emily, Issac, Brianna, Hunter, Sierra, Jonathan, Cassidy and Brittany; great grandchild, Bryatt. According to Vernetta’s wishes there will be no services and burial will be in Reamer Hill Cemetery.
