He was born March 13, 1980, at Delaware, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Verlie Smith Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Scott-Bennett; children, Christian Scott, Brandon Bennett, Charles Braham, Gracynn Bennett, Jason Bennett and Hanna Mullins; siblings, Bob Smith, Carolyn Wilkinson, Debra Miller, Christina Miller and Rebecca Braham; nieces and nephews, Alivia Miller, Nick Wilson, Damien Miller, Brian Braham, Sarah Payne, Adam Smith, Little Randy and others; beloved pets, Lulu, Loki, George and Cotton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Smith; a friend he was raised with, Robert Burgess.

Daniel enjoyed his family, outdoors and fishing.

There will be a Celebration of Life at noon, Saturday, January 18 at the Heritage Park Community Building, Spencer. A pot luck dinner will be immediately after the service. You are encouraged to bring food and attend the service and dinner.
