Judge Anita Harold Ashley held Circuit Court in Calhoun County last week. Prosecutor Shannon Johnson said Dennis Wayne Bailey entered a guilty plea to one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Felony; one count of Breaking and Entering, a Felony; and one count of Grand Larceny, a Felony. He will be sentenced on February 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Matthew Freshour entered a guilty plea to Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Felony, and to Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Misdemeanor. He will be sentenced on February 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Jeremy Scott Burrows entered a guilty plea to Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, a Felony. The Court will sentence him on February 6, 2019 at 9 a.m. Prosecutor Johnson said Jonathan David McIntyre appeared for sentencing. He was sentenced to one to three years in the state penitentiary for failure to pay child support, a felony. He was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $45,156.05. He was given credit for time served of seventy days. In addition, he was sentenced to six months in the regional jail for joyriding, a misdemeanor; twelve months in the regional jail for petit larceny, a misdemeanor; twelve months in the regional jail for fleeing on foot, a misdemeanor; and six months in the regional jail for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. All the misdemeanor sentences are to be served concurrently. The misdemeanor sentences and the felony sentence are to be served consecutively to one another. He was also fined $500.00 for driving on a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Jacob Dodd appeared for sentencing. The court suspended the imposition of his sentence and placed him on one year of probation. Brandy Carpenter did not appear for her pre-trial hearing with good cause shown by her Counsel. Her case is set for trial on February 6, 2019. The court also heard a number of juvenile cases.
