The driver bolted from the vehicle and ran down the hillside to River Street, a considerable distance, with officer in hot pursuit by foot.

The trooper caught up with the man near a car wash, while calling for back-up from other officers, according to Calhoun 911.

Grantsvile Police Chief Craig Gherke and another State Policeman responded to the scene.

The vehicle was impounded and the suspect was arrested.
