He was born August 12, 1959 at Charleston, a son of the late Clarence and Jane Simpson Burke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Burke.

Mike was a laborer.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Adkins Burke of Clendenin; three stepchildren, Doug Martin, Teresa Martin and Jackie Martin all of Clendenin; two step grandchildren, David Martin and Gabriel Martin; two brothers, Vernon Burke and John Burke both of Charleston WV; two sisters, Cathy Snow of Charleston WV and Chris Bailes of Pt. Pleasant WV; stepmother, Mary Burke Massey of Charleston; three half-brothers, Scott Burke, Jay Burke and Jerry Burke all of Charleston; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. There will be no service.
