She was born July 11, 1943 in Webster County, a daughter of the late Samuel Russell and Losie Jane Helmick Carter.

She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting and puzzles and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Komarony and Velma Waksmunski; three sons, Thomas and Douglas Cain and Samuel Jarvis; four sisters, Opal Kirchberg, Judy Dobbins, Nina Wilfong, and Louise Ice; three brothers, Gene, Jerry, and Michael Carter; and three granddaughters, Tamara Henry, Kayla Cain, and Natasha Jarvis.

In accordance with Sharons's wishes, there will be no visitation or viewing as her wish was to be cremated.

Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
