CLIFFORD W. BUTLER - Spencer

Clifford W. Butler, 88, of Spencer, West Virginia died November 15, 2002, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.

Born at Beech, Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Roy and Martha Lowers Butler. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was an oil field worker and farmer. He attended Fairview Church and Leatherbark Community Church.

Surviving are five sisters, Lura Webb and Georgia Atkinson, both of Spencer, Rushie Oglesbee of Sandusky, Ohio, and Virginia Parsons and Stella Hall, both of Parkersburg, WV; one brother, Donzel Butler of Minnora, WV; and a foster son, Richard Burrows of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Butler; his second wife, Beulah Butler; three brothers, Ray Brannon and Dolpha and Nelson Butler; three sisters, Gae Smith, Lear Wears and Genevieve Butler.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, the Rev. Darrell Johnson and the Rev. Herbert Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery, Beech. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
