Jennings retired from the Carpenter's Union in West Virginia and Ohio receiving his 50 year pin. He was a member of the Minnora United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the WV Draft Horse and Mule Association for years. He thoroughly enjoyed his draft horses owning two different teams; Duke and Doc and Vic and Roc. He did a ride with his team from Maybe, WV to the Shafer Ride at Amma, WV then returning home one year. What an enjoyable time he had.

Jennings never met a stranger, enjoyed going to the stock pens when he was able. He especially enjoyed sharing his love and experience with animals with his great grandson Jacob Watkins. His knowledge and old tales will be sorely missed by family and friends.
