The Boone County Sheriff's Department and Madison Police Department responded to a call at in Quinland late Thursday night,

When they arrived, law enforcement found a man armed with two knives and a standoff began.

The man eventually slashed his own throat and had to be taken a hospital in Charleston.

Dispatchers said the man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

CONTRACTOR HEIST - A South Charleston contractor working on a home was approached by a man with a gun, putting the gun to his head.

The victim gave the man around $500 in cash and other personal items.

He was able to escape, and now police are tracking him down.

Police believe the suspect is from out of state.
