She was born November 18, 1941 at Wallback WV, a daughter of the late Floyd Nelson and Gladys Lorraine Downey Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John McConnell in 1988; a sister, Delores Dills; a brother, Nelson Edward Smith.

She was a Christian and a member of the Apostolic Faith Chapel, Spencer.

Survivors include sons, Christopher Dills and Mitchell Dills both of Spencer, John McConnell of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Lesia Bedell of Akron, OH; stepson, Danny Dills of Akron, OH; stepdaughter, Kelly Benjamin-Twiddy of Akron, OH; granddaughter, Aleah Bedell.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 31 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
