COMPANY RECALLING FRUIT SOLD AT WALMART

(07/30/2014)
There are hundreds of recalls listed each week in the USA.

If you've picked up fruit at Walmart (Cosrco, Trader Joes) recently, you will want to read this.

A packing company is voluntarily recalling peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots that were packed at its Cutler, Calif., warehouses between June 1st and July 12th.

Walmart and Sam's Club stores have posted notices about the fruit recall on their websites. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the recall is nationwide.

Wawona Packing Co. said it believes the products may be contaminated with a bacterium that causes Listeriosis. The most common symptoms of Listeriosis are gastrointestinal issues.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said pregnant women, infants, older adults and people with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk for a more serious infection.
