Fire struck a dwelling at 11927 W. Little Kanawha Highway, Annamoriah Sunday, the dwelling is likely near a total loss, the Grantsville VFD quickly brought the blaze under control with part of the structure still standing.

Initially there was concern that people were inside the house.P> Neighbors said the occupants of the dwelling were away when the fire broke out.

The house was located near the Annamoriah Flats along State Rt. 5, not far from the Wirt County line.

The fire was reported at 10:45 p.m.

There is no public water in that area.

Firemen were on the scene until 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

The Elizabeth-Wirt VFD and Minnie Hamilton EMS also responded to the blaze.
