|Lonnie B. Shamblin, 80, of Spencer, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the CAMC-General Hospital, Charleston.|
He was born March 5, 1934, at Left Hand, Roane County. Lonnie was a retired laborer.
Survivors include five daughters, Carolyn Rush of Ravenswood, Patricia Hedrick of Elkview, Doris Tanner-Westfall of Big Otter, Bille McKown of Spencer and Henrietta Jones of Big Springs; five sons, Lonnie Eugene "Bud" Shamblin of Arnoldsburg, Darrell Shamblin of Stumptown, Bobby Shamblin of Clay, Ronald Shamblin of Knoxville, TN and Tom Shamblin of Spencer; four half-sisters, Billie Nichols of Spencer, Mary Nichols of Newton, Ruby Cottrell of Garland, PA and Alice Conley of Spencer; one half-brother, Gene Potts of Spencer; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara June Wickline Shamblin on July 13, 2010; parents, David and Donna Hathaway Shamblin; half-sisters, Lou Fletcher, Freda Myers, Velma Ledsome and Bertha Benear; half-brothers, Tom, Roy and Ellis Potts.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Lester Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
