Snow covered highways have led to several accidents. Two people were involved Thursday night in a single vehicle accident on Walnut Road, off State Rt. 16 near Chloe. Minnie Hamilton EMS and the Upper West Fork VFD responded to the 911 call at 8:30 p.m. The occupants included a male, and a female who was reported 3-months pregnant. Reports indicated that the parties did not appear to be injured, and were not taken to the hospital. The Spencer-Roane VFD and Roane EMS were called at 8:35 p.m. to the intersection of US 33-State Rt. 14 in Spencer where a car left the highway and plunged into a creek. The SRVD reported they needed a wrecker ASAP with the car being unstable and the driver inside. A short time later responders said the car was stabilized and the driver was being removed.
