WED. 11:45 AM - Highway officials say Rt. 5 east of Grantsville, near the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, will be closed for about 24-hours. A large boulder on the hillside is being removed because it is a threat to public safety. Earlier Wednesday, the highway was blocked by a fallen tree and downed power lines. ORIGINAL STORY/WED. 9:27 AM - Wind Gusts blowing across the area downed a tree and power lines across State Rt. 5 East, blocking traffic Wednesday morning. Responders said a large boulder on the hillside was a threat to safety. The road was blocked at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. The Grantsville VFD responded to the scene for traffic control. Power company and highway workers were responding to the scene. |
