ROANE RECYCLING LOOKING FOR NEW HOME |
(07/18/2013) |
The Roane County Solid Waste Authority (RCSWA) will meet today to look for a new site for the county re-cyling center, according to Brenda Wilson, chairperson of the RCSWA. The recycling center is looking for a new home after 20 years, the City of Spencer canceling their lease. The meeting will be at the Spencer Library at 6 p.m. The recycling center has been on town property in a small building the solid waste authority erected 20 years ago, and have paid the City of Spencer $30,000 in rent over that period. "Besides the usual RCSWA board members, we have invited Terry Williams, representing the town of Spencer; Mark Whitley, representing the Roane Economic Dev. Authority; Rodney Cox, representing the Roane County Commission and Carol Throckmorton, representing the WV Solid Waste Management Board," said Wilson.
