Residents reported the structure was near four other houses and that all occupants were out of the structure.

The Spencer-Roane VFD, Clover VFD, Gandeeville VFD and others responded to the blaze.

Bartlett Road is in a rural area between Spencer/Steele Hollow and Triplett Rd.

Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire along Hollywood Rd. near Newton in Roane County around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. Early reports say the house was abandoned and was fully involved and on the ground when the Newton Fire Department arrived.

The Newton Volunteer Fire Department is investigating.
