State Police were reportedly digging and excavating in a wooded area along Beech Road Sunday, according to witnesses.

Police units responded to a flat, soggy bottom frequented by ATVs along the creek, a short distance south of the Beech United Methodist Church and the intersection of Road Run.

Police have not released information regarding what residents called digging.
