Ronald E. Boyles, 86, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in the CAMC - Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was born July 13, 1926, in Roane County, a son of the late Harold and Vera Runnion Boyles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Sue McClain; and a grandson, Jason Mace.

Ronald was a retired loan officer at Traders Bank, Spencer. He was a 50 year member of Moriah Lodge No. 38, A.F. & A.M., Spencer, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Nemesis Shrine Temple, Parkersburg. He was an Army veteran of World War, II, who served in the 9th Infantry, 47th Regiment, K Company and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V. Also, he was a member of the Boggs Fork Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Grimm Boyles of Spencer; son, Jeff Boyles and Joy Turner of Spencer; sisters, Golda Reed of Kingwood and Dorothy Perkins of Clinton, OH; brothers, Harold Boyles, Jr. of Williamstown and Garrett Boyles of Spencer; grandchildren, Heather Boyles of Spencer, Nicholas Boyles of Elkins and Aaron Mace of Parkersburg; great grandchildren, Seth Mace, Austin Mace, Levi Mace, Gracie Boyles and Hannah Boyles.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Russell B. Stump officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
