Judith "Judy" Woody Powell, 74 - St. Marys

Judith "Judy" Woody Powell, 74, of St. Marys, formerly of Grantsville, died June 23, 2012 in St. Marys.

She was born, April 7, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Willam B. Sr. and Leah Arnold Woody.

The Woody family had lived in Grantsville, and at one time was engaged in the auto business.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Marys, where she was active in the church having taught the High School Sunday School Class and had been a youth leader.

She was a 1956 graduate of St. Marys High School and had attended West Liberty and Glenville State Colleges. She was a member of the St. Marys Chapter No. 31 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie A. Powell; four sons, Jeff (Suzanne) Powell, Jim (Kathi) Powell, Joe (Amy) Powell and Jay (Susan) Powell; five grandchildren, Emily Powell, Ashley Powell, Caroline Powell, Luke Powell and Callie Powell; two brothers, William B. "Sonny"(Carole) Woody, Jr. and James A. Woody; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, St. Marys with Pastor John Strimer officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., and from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
