She was born in Freed, Calhoun County a daughter of the late Okey A. and Anna Cunningham Shimer.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Darris Kendall; one brother; 6 sisters and one grandson.

Surviving is a daughter, Shirley Ann (Ron) Collins of Arnoldsburg; a sister, Arthelia Richards of Elizabeth WV; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV. Rev. Carrol McCauley will officiate. Interment will be in the Gainer Cemetery at Big Springs.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
