A Grantsville firemen checks hillside blaze

Grantsville firemen responded to a gas line fire late Monday night at the old Hardman farm on Barnes Run, the Hur-Rocksdale Road. The right-of-way line on a steep hillside apparently ignited by static electricity.

The fire lit up the nearby woods, but there was no damage. Firemen advised the gas company, who will shut down the line.
