Born May 16, 1933 at Guthrie, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Orville Samuel McCollum and Mamie Crawford McCollum.

He was a US Army veteran.

Surviving are his children, Roy S. McCollum Jr., Deborah L. McCollum, Linda Rump (Paul) and Michael (Stephanie) all of Ohio; two brothers, Robert and John; two sisters, Francis Starkey and Shirley Mace; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ernestine McCollum.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg WV. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
