Troy Hathaway, 83 - Parkersburg

Troy Hathaway, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away suddenly but peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, Jan. 22, 2011, at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Mt. Zion, W.Va., a son of the late Clyde and Goldie Bennett Hathaway.

He was an honored veteran and served our great country in the U.S. Army and was a faithful and active member of Kites Run Evangelical Methodist Church.

His career life included U.S. Quarry Tile, Foothill Electric, and he retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Belpre, Ohio, after more than 30 years of service.

He was a Ham Radio Operator with the call sign WA8AUV, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and he played guitar and sang.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 63 years, Clara Pearl (Marlow) Hathaway; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard "Bud" Hathaway, Lennis Hathaway, Evelyn Haught, Greta Stump, Nada Newhouse and Vera Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with his friend Pastor Mike Kerns officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, and full military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 15.
