| Joseph Odell Green Sr., 64, of Orrville, formerly of Aliquippa, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, following a period of declining health.|
Joseph was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to Dorsal Joseph and Leota Virginia (McCune) Green and married Patricia June Hill on Nov. 28, 1967, in Maryland. She died previously.
He had worked in the cleaning room and heat treatment for the Quality Castings Company in Orrville, retiring by disability in 2001.
Joseph enjoyed the History Channel and was an avid science fiction fan, enjoying shows such as Star Trek and Stargate. He loved to talk and visit with friends and especially his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Laura (Ron) Lehtomaki and a son, Joseph O. Green Jr., both of Orrville; grandchildren, Ronnie, Kelsey and Lucas Lehtomaki of Orrville, John Green of Wooster; brothers, William Green of Orrville and Raymond (Jill) Blankenship of Cambridge; sisters, Ada (Steve) Adkins of Creston, Dorma Carnegie of Barberton, Linda (William) Beale of Florence, S.C., and Carmen (Larry) Cottrill of Monaca, Pa.; a special family friend, Brenda Hinerman of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Stanley Green; and a grandson, Joseph Stanley Green.
A memorial gathering was held Dec. 12, at the family residence, 217 S. Mill St., Orrville, with the Rev. Elane Boggs officiating.
