She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Garnet and Fannie Hersman. She lost her battle with Parkinson's after 31 years.

Frances was one out of eight brothers and sisters. She retired as a seamstress from Misty Manufacturing. She was married to the late Cephas Mowrey Jr. for 52 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine "Jerry" Satow, Marsha Blagg and Janet Brown; a son, David Mowrey; a sister, Lovern Bragg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
