SLICK ROADS CAUSE ACCIDENTS COUNTY-WIDE |

The highways are slick, with Department of Highways working on treatment. The area's first snow has brought a multitude of vehicle accidents to Calhoun, Roane and the region. Fortunately, school was canceled early today. 911 has received calls about wrecks on Liberty Hill, US 33-119 west of Arnoldsburg, the Brannon Straight on Rt. 16 south of Arnoldsburg, near the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center on Rt. 5 east, and multiple other locations. The county's fire departments and Furr's Wrecker have been in action since 7:30 a.m. Roane County emergency services have also received multiple calls related to accidents. EMS has received at least one critical call for assistance, non-accident related. So far, there have been no reports of injuries. More to follow...
