Grantsville firemen responded to a debris fire in a hollow off lower Pine Creek Road yesterday at 3:50 p.m.

A neighbor called 911 after discovering two piles of discarded materials burning a short distance from a propane tank.

Firemen quickly dumped water on the blaze, knocking it down.

About 10 p.m. the department was called to the site to extinguish a re-kindle.
