Dorothy M. "Dotty" Banks, 75 - Spencer

Dorothy M. "Dotty" Banks, 75, of Spencer, WV, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer, following a long illness.

She was born August 21, 1931, at Liverpool, WV, a daughter of the late Harold A. and Jean Curry Marshall. She was retired from the First National Bank of Spencer and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Spencer.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil P. Banks; son, Doug Moss of Reedy, WV; two step-daughters, Brooke Reed of Vienna, WV, and Tamara Byrd of Huntington, WV; three step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and two step-great grandsons; brother, Jim Marshall of Spencer; two sisters, Shirley Watson of Ravenswood, WV, and Margaret Sturm of Spencer.

A private funeral service for family members only will be held Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Robert A. "Bob" Keen and the Rev. Garry L. Bowen officiating. There will be a private visitation for the family beginning one hour before the funeral service. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

The family requests that flowers please be omitted and suggest that contributions, in memory of Dotty and in her name, be given to the charity of your choice.
