A Roane County man has died from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Wayne County. Kenneth Lee Roberts, 39, of Spencer, died Sunday following the accident. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Revs. Charles Davis and Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Reedy, W.Va. Visiting hours are from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Roberts was a self-employed oil and gas operator for Geronimo Energy in Wayne County and was a Spencer High School graduate. He was formerly employed by J&F Well Service, Shanklin Green House and worked for Carl Smith Pipeline Co. from 1991 to 1999. He was a lifelong member of the Boggs Fork Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was born July 25, 1967, in Ripley, W.Va., a son of Wayne and Janet Short Roberts of Spencer. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Kennedy Wayne Roberts of Spencer; two brothers, Mike Roberts and his wife, Charla, of Spencer and Rick Roberts and his wife, Velma, of Waynesburg, Pa.; and two nieces, Natalie and Caitlin Roberts, both of Spencer. Kenny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clark and Verna Roberts; and maternal grandparents, Roma and Catheryn Short Jr.
