The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department responded at 5:32 p.m. to the woods fires near the Kirby residence.

Firemen found a backpack, oil and fire crackers, reportedly hidden in leaves.

Police were interrogating a suspect who was on foot near Joker.

The blazes were extinguished by 6 p.m.
