The teen reportedly died from a gunshot wound Sunday night, with State Police from Calhoun and Roane County responding to the youth's residence.

Calhoun EMS responded to the rural area some distance off Beech Road, following a 911 call asking for assistance.

Coroner Ed Messenger said he could not comment on the case, pending further investigation.

The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office.
