A PACKED RACE - Ten File For Grantsville Council

Interest in the political life of Grantsville, a town of 500 citizens, continues to blossom with ten citizens filing for council.

Former mayor Gary Knight has filed for mayor, running against incumbent Wilbert Kerby.

Former town recorder Jane Wease has filed for the position and will likely be unopposed unless there is a late filer by mail. Current recorder Roger Propst announced he will not seek re-election.

Incumbent Loretta Stevens and newcomer Katheryn Kerby have filed by mail, bringing the field to ten candidates.

Incumbents filing are, Gaylen Duskey, Cheryl Cheesbrew, JoAnn Shock and Charlie Whipkey.

Other newcomers are, Stephanie Ferguson, Geneva Groves, Helen Jordan and Theresa Cain.

The election is scheduled for June. All offices hold two year terms.
