She was born June 20, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Eva M. Helwege. "Kay" was a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Burgess of Spencer; two sons, Larry Burgess, Jr. of Ravenswood and Tom Burgess of Spencer; one grandson, Zachary Burgess.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery, Otto.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 11.
