He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Toby Harper Garrett; two sons, John Garrett and Joe Bob Garrett; one brother, Jack D. Garrett; one granddaughter, Colleen Thyret; one grandson, William Joshua Garrett; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial in the Spencer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 1 p.m. until time of service today.
