|Greta Mace Knopp, 76, of Spencer, West Virginia, left this world to her new home, with her Lord and Savior on December 29, 2005, after a brief illness.|
She was born in Calhoun County.
Mrs. Knopp was retired from Heck's Department Store, Spencer. After retirement, she served as caregiver To Miss Kate and Amy Williams and she served as a grammar school granny in the Roane County school system. She attended and was a member of the Spencer Assembly of God, where she was active in Women's Missions. She was endeared by many children, who brought love and joy to her life.
Greta was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Otho Knopp; she is survived by five sons, Timothy Knopp and wife, Toni Tiano of Parkersburg, Roger Knopp of Spencer, Philip Knopp and wife, Sharon Hess of York, SC, Kyle Knopp of Spencer and Kimble Knopp of Rock Hill, SC; one daughter, Deanna Hess and husband, Roger Hess of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Roger Mace and wife, Wanda of Spencer; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, January 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Geoff Wayne Officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gay, on Tuesday, January 3 at 1:00 p.m.
