CAR SUBMERGES IN SPRING CREEK |

| Two people escaped from the waters of Spring Creek at the Spencer city limits, near Washington Park, Saturday morning. The car failed to make the sharp turn on US 119/Charleston Bypass about 9 a.m. this morning, submerging in the water with only the roof visible. The car went through property belonging to Dick Reed. The Spencer-Roane VFD and the Roane County Emergency Squad responded.
