|Mary L. Bowe, 76, of Stumptown, W.Va., passed away Sept. 29, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston. |
Born at Index, Gilmer County, she was a daughter of the late Sylvanus and Alice Goff McCartney. She was a former telephone operator in the Baltimore area. She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at Stumptown and the Lockney CEOS.
Surviving are three sons, Timothy Bowe of Stumptown, Douglas Bowe of Charleston and Michael Bowe of Parkersburg; three sisters, Marbie Smith of Grantsville, Myrtle Roberts of Stumptown and Margaret Kent of Machepongo, Va.; and three brothers, Sull McCartney of Glenville, Donald McCartney of Stumptown and Hunter Pell McCartney of Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Bowe; five half-brothers; two half-sisters; one brother, Loren "Buck" McCartney; and four sisters, Mabel Mahaney, Myrtha Morris, Madeline "Kits" Engle and Melva Robinson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Interment will be in the Collins Community Cemetery at Stumptown. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
