Calhoun's application for the use of a $50,000 grant has been approved by the
WV Office of Emergency Services, and the equipment is already on order. The $50,000 Homeland Security Grant for law enforcement will purchase communication consoles, which will be placed at Calhoun's 911 Center in addition to mobile two-way radio equipment for the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department. The Sheriff's Department has also requested mobile radio equipment for the Town of Grantsville police cruiser, which has been approved. A $30,000 grant for the local Office of Emergency Services is being processed by OES Director Bill Stemple. |
